The process of manufacturing welded pipe involves the bending of hot rolled coil, or HRC, or discreet plate and then welding the seam at the edges. After receiving the steel in an as rolled plate form or being unwound from the coil in which it is delivered, the steel is passed through a series of rollers that cause the edges of the HRC to curl together to form a cylinder before it is welded.
